Propel® Launches Next
Generation Partner Program
Streamlined Deployment And Pricing Models For ISPs; New Revenue
Opportunities For Network Service Providers and Hardware Manufacturers
April 23, 2003, Baltimore, MD ISPCON: ISPCON Propel Software
Corporation today announced the expansion of its Partner Program to further
enhance its offering and deliver value to a wide spectrum of service
providers.
To date, Propel has signed over 1,000 resellers and affiliates since the
program's inception in September of 2002. The Propel Partner Program allows
ISPs of all sizes, from EarthLink to regional ISPs such as Rural
Communications, to offer the award winning Propel Accelerator to hundreds of
thousands of dial-up subscribers.
With the next generation Partner Program, Propel is further improving the
benefits to ISPs, as well as extending the program to other service
providers. New pricing models plus easy-to-deploy hosting solutions now
offer service providers tremendous flexibility. Service providers now have
the opportunity to implement strategies for subscriber growth and retention
as well as improved margins and profitability.
New Program Enhancements Address Emerging
Industry Needs
As accelerated dial capabilities are fast becoming a key differentiator when
choosing an ISP, more and more ISPs are moving quickly to bundle
acceleration with dial access. Propel has enhanced its pricing model to make
universal deployment cost effective to ISPs, while delivering much higher
margins to partners and allowing them to differentiate their services in a
highly competitive market.
"We were thrilled to hear about Propel's expanded program for universal
deployment," said David Sovereen, CEO of Mercury Network. "The decision to
include Propel Accelerator as part of every dial-up account was made easy
because of Propel's new pricing structure." Sovereen added, "Given the
challenging market climate, as an ISP, we are committed to finding ways to
both differentiate our dial-up service and reduce churn. Propel is helping
us to do both."
Steve Kirsch, CEO and founder of Propel added, "When we began offering
Propel, it was sold as an a la carte or premium service for ISPs to offer
their subscriber base. Over time, the market has clearly shifted, with ISPs
viewing Propel Accelerator as a 'must have' means of keeping subscribers. As
a result, we've adjusted the program to make this an easier and more cost
effective option for ISPs."
Self-Hosting Offers Greater Control and Increased Performance
The recently announced Propel® Web Acceleration Server (PWAS) is a
self-hosted server solution that is simple to deploy and scales seamlessly
to support hundreds of thousands of users. The ISPs can benefit by seeing a
reduction in bandwidth, while maintaining greater operational control.
"As the Propel Partner Program matures, we continue to truly listen to our
partners. We have quickly realized the importance of a self hosting option
and have responded with a solid architecture that delivers exceptional value
and speed of deployment," said Adriaan Theron, VP of Sales and Marketing
Worldwide. "PWAS is only the beginning."
The Definition of "Partner" now reaches beyond ISPs
The Propel Partner Program has rapidly expanded to include Application
Service Providers (ASPs), Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), Network
Service Providers (NSPs) and Hardware Vendors, delivering incremental
revenue and opportunities to differentiate their offerings in new and
powerful ways. Adriaan Theron added, "We will be announcing some significant
new partnerships on this front at ISPCon, demonstrating the continued
momentum behind our enhanced Partner Program. Expect to see a leading
Network Service Provider and a top modem manufacturer to join our list of
strategic partners."
